You’ll need more than a morning to even contemplate all the vineyards and cellar doors in the Mornington Peninsula region, more than 200 and 50 respectively.
Their pinot noir is en pointe thanks to the rolling valleys that protect the vines within a cool, coastal climate.
The chardonnay, pinot grigio, pinot gris and shiraz are also very welcoming to visitors – as are the hatted cellar door restaurants throughout the region.
Get there by heading south east for about an hour from Melbourne. When you see the dramatic cliffs and pristine beaches, you’re well and truly on the good Mornington Peninsula.
