I’m a member of a Devonport-based wine club. When I was asked to help organise a weekend for club members in Martinborough I was happy to accept. How hard could it be? Choose a few wineries, make a few phone calls… simple.

In fact, it was a bit more complicated than I’d anticipated. We had to organise a place to stay, book restaurants and go back and forth to wine producers to suit everyone’s schedule. It became a major hassle.

If only I’d been able to use CELLARDOORS.CO, an app and website that was recently launched in Australia and will soon include New Zealand winery cellar doors to help anyone wishing to tread the wine trail. It will also connect wine lovers with local accommodation and restaurants. It’s a one-stop-shop that allows travellers to search, plan, book and create memorable wine travel experiences. They describe it as;

“A go-to-app for all travellers with an interest in wine.”

 The Australian version can be seen at the website and the app via the Apple App Store or Google Play.

NZ’s 12 regions will be approached over the next few weeks with the aim of launching the New Zealand section of the website before Christmas and the New Zealand section of the app in the early New Year.

Wine companies interested in knowing more can simply go to the New Zealand website to register interest or call the NZ Sales Manager Emma Dodd on mobile number +64 (0)21 067 0784 or email emma@cellardoors.co
