No I don’t mean that grapes will be distilled or that gin will be crushed in the winery however that’s not too far from the truth. Penfolds is buying grapes from the Napa – Napa Grange maybe? Four Pillars adds shiraz to its gin and Aussies are all over the world making wine and spirits too.
There’s something interesting happening in Singapore in the spirits world. Tanglin is the country’s first gin still and the ambitious producers are planning on selling into Australia in the near future. Tim Whitefield is the head distiller responsible for the boranical flavour profile. Their local distributor is Gain Brands and now that they have product they are looking for an Aussie distributor. There are also plans in the works to establish a sister Aussie brand. Tim can be contacted at 65 9826 6102 and email.
